The Google Summer of Code program for 2006 ran through September 8, 2006, bringing together 630 students and over 1200 mentors across 90 countries to create a variety of open source software.

82% of our students received successful final evaluations for the program. You can review the abstracts and other information provided by them by visiting the individual mentoring organization pages below. We've also created a map (requires Google Earth) of all mentors and student participants for your perusal.

If you're interested in participating in the Google Summer of Code program in the future, you can still check out our Student and Mentor FAQs. Many of our mentoring organizations have also provided write ups about their experiences in GSoC 2006 on their organizations' websites.

We extend our congratulations to our successful student participants and many thanks to all of our mentors.

If you're feeling nostalgic, you can still access the Google Summer of Code™ 2005 site.
